Category A1

Category A1 Course (Motorcycles)

Category A1

A person with a category "A1" license is authorized to operate:

a) Motorcycles with an engine displacement of no more than 125 cc, a maximum power of no more than 11 kW, and a power/weight ratio not exceeding 0.1 kW/kg;

b) Three-wheeled motor vehicles with a power output not exceeding 15 kW.

A person with a category "A1" license is also authorized to operate vehicles from category "AM".

By building upon the knowledge, skills, and behavior acquired for category "A1" through the appropriate training for the category and after successfully passing the corresponding exams, one can acquire the right to operate vehicles from categories "A2", "A", "B1", "B", and "T" (wheel tractor or tram motor car).

Requirements

The candidate for acquiring the right to operate a vehicle of category "A1" must:

- Be at least 16 years old;

- Meet the physical fitness requirements as defined in the Regulation under Article 152a of the Road Traffic Act;

- Have completed at least basic education after 8th grade or provide a certificate for the first high school stage (10th grade);

When starting the training, the candidate must be at least 15 years and 9 months old.

Documents

To register for a category A1 course, you will need the following documents: ID card, original and a copy of the certificate for at least basic education after 8th grade or a certificate for completing the first high school stage (10th grade), and 2 passport-sized photos.

Training

For holders of categories B, C, CE, D, the training is purely practical and consists of 20 hours of driving on a training ground and city driving.
Training for trainees without a driving license from the above categories includes 40 hours of theory and 20 hours of driving on a training ground and city driving.
