Psycholaboratory

The psychological examination measures the qualities and suitability of the candidates for acquiring the relevant category for legal administration - C, C1, D, D1 or professional group. Through the test, a probable forecast of the candidate's psychological state is prepared, and the corresponding certificate is issued.

Psychological test is required for

Drivers who are about to acquire professional qualification for categories C, C1, D, D1, TtB (Trolleybus), TtM (Tram car).
Taxi drivers
For professional drivers of vehicles for public transport of passengers or goods.
Citizens with a foreign driving license who want to exchange it for a Bulgarian one.
Citizens involved in a road traffic accident - RTA.
For acquiring driving eligibility after the driver's license was revoked due to deduction of control points (Article 157, paragraph 4 of the Road Traffic Act).
In case of temporarily revoked driver's license under Article 171, item 1, letter "a" of the Road Traffic Act.
For drivers deprived of the right to drive based on Article 174, paragraph 2 of the Road Traffic Act or Article 343 of the Penal Code (for alcohol).

Validity period

The certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
Upon reaching the age of 65, the certificate's validity period is 1 year.
Taxi drivers and drivers of vehicles for public transport of passengers or goods must undergo psychological testing every 3 years.

Required documents for psychological testing:

Copy and original of the driver's license;
Copy of the driver's license for motor vehicles;
Copy of the control card;

Required documents for drivers deprived of driving rights:

Copy of the Act for administrative violation or a penal order, appealed in the appropriate manner.
If the driver's license was revoked – copy of the order for license revocation and court decision, as well as a certificate from the Ministry of Interior confirming the served sentence;
Foreigners or Bulgarian citizens with a foreign driving license – passport or identity card and a copy of the page from the Bulgarian identity document with the permanent address.
